The way people work has changed dramatically in the western world in recent years. The founders of the Coworking space betahaus describe the change as follows: “Values are no longer created in traditional offices. Value creation is more and more common in different places, at different times, in changing team constellations and without permanent employment. This new kind of work needs new virtual and physical places. We need open digitally networked and collaborative workplaces that are flexible and serve as an incubation platform for networking, innovation and production.” How the co-working principles work is examined in more detail using the Berlin betahaus – a workplace structure for the self-employed and young entrepreneurs.

Die Art und Weise wie Menschen arbeiten hat sich in den letzten Jahren in der westlichen Welt stark verändert. Die Gründer des Coworking space betahaus beschreiben den Wandel wie folgt: „Werte werden nicht mehr in klassischen Büros geschaffen. Wertschöpfung findet heute immer häufiger an unterschiedlichen Orten, zu unterschiedlichen Zeiten, in wechselnden Teamkonstellationen und ohne Festanstellung statt. Diese neue Art der Arbeit sucht nach neuen realen und virtuellen Orten. Benötigt werden offene, digital vernetzte und kollaborative Arbeitsorte, die flexibel sind und als Inkubationsplattform für Netzwerk, Innovation und Produktion dienen.“ Wie das Prinzip Coworking aussieht wird anhand des Berliner betahauses – einer Arbeitsplatzstruktur für Selbstständige und junge Unternehmer näher untersucht.
