For this year’s Coworking Unconference Asia in Ubud we created a special evening event at Bali’s very first Coworking Space – Hubud. The Coworking Salon features insights into new studies and a chance to let your inner coworking research nerd out. The event is hosted by the Coworking Library’s co-founder, Johanna Voll. She has invited Prof. Daniel Schlagwein and Irene Manzini Ceinar to share some results of their latest projects. Come along for a drink or two on day 2 of CU Asia, 7:30 pm and sign up here.

Irene Manzini Ceinar: Urban Effects of Coworking Spaces Anchor Strategies for Placemaking Action

Irene is an architect and urban designer who holds a Master of Research in Interdisciplinary Urban Design at the Bartlett School of Planning, UCL London. As a doctoral student there, she is interested in the relationship between precariousness cultures, work patterns and the use and production of the urban space.

Having worked as an urban designer with a research background of qualitative methodologies in placemaking strategies, Irene will tell us about a human-centered approach and her take on community engagement and coworking.

Daniel Schlagwein: Digital Nomadism: Looking Backward, Looking Forward

Daniel is an Associate Professor of Information Systems at the University of Sydney Business School. He holds a Ph.D. and a Masters in Information Systems from the University of Cologne. Prior to entering academia, he was a consultant in the ICT industry and so experienced the emergence of digital nomadism firsthand.

As an expert on remote work, he will give an overview of his findings as well as an outlook on what that means for coworking.

Johanna Voll: Coworking Library – a free online database with all coworking research in one place

The Coworking Library is an interdisciplinary open online database in which all current and former research about coworking can be found. As a community project, it is free to access as this project was built with the help of many partners from the coworking world. Find out how you can support us here.

During the Coworking Salon Johanna will tell you more about our mission. She is one of the co-founders and active in the German Coworking Federation as well as the European Coworking Assembly. If she is not busy connecting coworking researchers, she is developing new project ideas by the minute.

We are looking forward to hosting you at Hubud, 7:30 pm, 6 March 2020. The event is free of charge. There will be drinks. You need to sign up here.
